Trish Best accepts the Community Volunteer Leader Award at Adelante VI, an annual Hispanic heritage and multicultural celebration, held Oct. 13 at Buena Vista Country Club, Buena. She was honored for her work with the Hand to Hand Mission Group which collects and delivers donations and supplies to Haiti. Julie Roche, who is involved with the mission, gave a presentation during the evening. Father Yvans Jazon, who was born and raised in Haiti, is president of the organization. He currently serves as parochial vicar at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, Wildwood.

A contingent from Paul VI High School, Haddonfield, was in Rome for the canonization of their school’s patron. At right are some of the students from the class of 2019 who made the trip: Dan Schmidt, Jack Jablonoski, Gavin Petersen, Sabrina Colclough, Juliana Sweeney and Olivia Darley. Below, Sister Mary Ann Gecina, teacher, and Sister Marianne McCann, principal, catch up with Peter Gallagher, class of 2012, who is currently attending the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy, in preparation for his ordination.
