Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill, will welcome 13 individual inductees and two teams into its Hall of Fame.

Six of these inductees will be installed in the Emerald Hall of Fame for Academics and Arts, three will enter the Special category for their loyal support and dedication to the school, and the remaining four individuals and two teams will be installed in the Green and White Hall of Fame for Athletics.

This is the ninth group to be recognized with the honor since the event began in 2007.

Funds raised at the Hall of Fame event benefit scholarships for current CCHS students who are selected by the Hall of Fame committee based on a submitted essay, leadership qualities, determination, and Camden Catholic spirit.

Emerald Hall of Fame for Academics and Arts:

Dawn Marie Addiego ’80: Senator, 8th legislative district of New Jersey since 2000.

Carman Ciervo, D.O. ’80: Chief physician executive for Kennedy Health System.

Carmen Garcia ’76: first Latino judge appointed in Mercer County and second Latina to be appointed to the judiciary in the entire State.

Anthony Giorgio ’68: founder and president of Lammey + Giorgio Architects.

Kevin Walsh ’91: attorney and associate director for the Fair Share Housing Center.

Thomas Higgins ’54 (posthumous): founding partner Higgins, Slatchetka, Long & Bonfiglio specializing in environmental law.

Special

Agnes (Weatherby) ’63 and James ’57 Madden: ardent supporters of and advocates for CCHS.

Ray Nardi ’78: devoted CCHS volunteer and supporter of various school and alumni activities.

Green and White Hall of Fame for Athletics

Earl Horner ’62: standout track runner.

Thomas Madden ’54: football, basketball and baseball standout.

Jill Shaw ’87: tennis, basketball and softball star.

Hollis Wineland ’52: football, track and baseball standout.

1962 Track & Field Team: winners of the Knights of Columbus Conference, the City Series, the Conference Title and the State Title, all while enduring the infamous fire of 1960 and rebuilding of the “new Camden Catholic.”

1991 Softball Team: first team in South Jersey to win the Hammonton Invitation Tournament, the Olympic National Division Title, South Jersey Parochial A Championship, NJ State Parochial A Championship, the Courier-Post Cup (number one team in South Jersey), and named “Team of the Year” in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“The Hall of Fame event is one which our entire Camden Catholic community anticipates each year,”said Hall of Fame committee chairperson Jack Wixted ’72.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 25, 7 p.m. in the Grandi Auditorium at Camden Catholic. A cocktail reception will follow. Tickets are $45/person advance and $55/person at the door. Purchase online at www.camdencatholic.org/halloffame, call 856-663-2247 ext.136 or email janet.indelicato@camdencatholic.org.
