A celebration for Ocean City Catholics

ocmass-webSome 250 parishioners and guests representing all three parishes in Ocean City gathered on Oct. 17 for Mass at St. Augustine Church, and later for breakfast at Greate Bay Country Club, in celebration of the three existing parishes of Ocean City uniting to form the Parish of St. Damien. The Communion breakfast was sponsored by the Ocean City Knights of Columbus Council 2560 which, since its inception in 1925, has included men from all areas of this island’s faith community. At left, Father David Givey (Chaplain of KofC Council 2560), Father Overton Jones and Father Philip Tighe concelebrated the Mass. The Fourth Degree Color Corps from the Rev. John T. Sheehan Assembly provided support for the celebration and Ambassador/U.S. Representative William Hughes was the keynote speaker at the breakfast.
