A reflection and an invitation

A reflection and an invitation

I love graduation season. In less than a week, high school baccalaureate Masses and commencement ceremonies create a flurry of travel across a field of inspiration. I never tire of the tradition, where young men and women celebrate their accomplishments, relationships and memories, while bursting with enthusiasm for the next chapter.

I love to see the beaming faces of parents and guardians who’ve sacrificed to give their children a Catholic faith-based education. I look forward to the music, carefully chosen and performed by students who are free to proclaim the Gospel message. I listen with a joyful heart as young speakers, poised and confident, reflect on the gifts of a Catholic school experience.

Yes, graduation season delivers. Every time.

Catholic school students represent a rich tapestry of cultural, socio-economic, racial and religious backgrounds. They are scholars, innovators, scientists, writers, athletes, artists, musicians and independent thinkers. They are leaders of people, followers of Christ and servants in their communities.

I invite you to explore the tradition that inspires my work every day. Registration for the 2016-17 school year is still open at schools throughout the Diocese of Camden. From city to shore, your family can find a home in a South Jersey Catholic school — from pre-K through high school.

Best wishes for a relaxing and blessed summer. Have fun! We’d love to see you in September.
