african-3The Catholic Mass in the African Traditions and Celebration was celebrated Oct. 27 at the Church of St. Bridget in Glassboro. Bishop Joseph Galante presided, and Father Vincent Orum, A.J., served as chief celebrant and homilist. Representatives of South Africa, Cameroon, United States, Zambia, Cote D’voire, Haiti and Ghana read the Prayers of the Faithful in native dialects, and the Akwaaba Prayer Group, Iwene Tansi Philadelphia and New Jersey Igbo choirs, and the Diocesan Gospel Choir, also participated. In photos: members of the Igbo Choir sing during the Mass; Father Orum receives the gifts from the Okoro family, the liturgical dance children of St. Monica Parish in Atlantic City perform.african-2_web
