For three hours on Thursday morning, April 29, about 200 Wildwood Catholic High School students blew bubbles for autism, sending not only the soapy spheres but also prayers up to the heavens for all those affected by autism. The event was organized by FACES (Families for Autistic Children Education and Support), a non-profit organization in Southern New Jersey which promotes early intervention, education and advocacy, and supports families with autistic children. Autism is a complex brain disorder affecting abilities to communicate and develop social relationships.
The 10 a.m.-1 p.m. event at Wildwood Catholic was part of a greater effort that day around Southern New Jersey to stoke autism awareness. Linda Kelly and daughters Morgan and Kate coordinated the Wildwood Catholic event.
