Breakfast for heroes

Local police and fire departments, emergency medical responders, veterans, military members and other active citizens were invited for breakfast at Saint Rose of Lima School in Haddon Heights on Nov. 21, a day set aside to give thanks to community heroes. Col. Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, spoke with students about the importance of service. Bishop Dennis Sullivan and Catholic Schools superintendent Mary Boyle took part in the celebration as well. Below, Jonathon Walker plays the trumpet during the opening ceremony.
