Camden Diocesan Celebration of Hispanic Families

Camden Diocesan Celebration of Hispanic Families

By Peter G. Sánchez

All Latino families are invited to a diocesan gathering of Hispanic families this Sunday, September 28, at Divine Mercy Parish in Vineland, from 3-6 PM.

Bishop Dennis Sullivan will be the main celebrant for the liturgy, which will focus on “Enjoying in family the feast of God,” and bring together Hispanic families from all over the six-county diocese, in worship, prayer, and fellowship.

The congregation will emphasize their connectedness as Hispanics united in the Catholic faith, and pray for the families, especially for those separated, through the United States’ immigration system.

The liturgy will also feature music from the diocesan Hispanic choir, and a procession of Latino families and the parishes with Hispanic Ministry in South Jersey.

“Latinos are a prophetic voice of unity in the family,” in their continual worship of the Catholic faith, as a family, noted Andres Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Camden. At Sunday masses and in their homes, families frequently come together to give thanks to God, he said.

All Hispanic families are invited to attend the celebration. For more information, call the Office of Hispanic Ministry at 856-583-6170, or e-mail norma.guzman@camdendiocese.org
