On Friday, Oct. 14, the Catholic Business Network will host its monthly breakfast, which this month will include a non-partisan presentation and discussion on what Catholics should consider as they go to the voting booth on Election Day.
The presenter will be Michael Jordan Laskey, the director of Life & Justice Ministries for the Diocese of Camden, where he also serves as diocesan vice chancellor for the city of Camden. His background is in Catholic parish and nonprofit ministry, and he completed an MA in theology from the University of Notre Dame’s Echo Faith Formation Leadership Program. A frequent writer and presenter on Catholic social teaching, Mike is the author of The Ministry of Peace and Justice (Liturgical Press), a Young Voices columnist for the National Catholic Reporter, and has written for Paulist Evangelization Ministries, America, Our Sunday Visitor, US Catholic, Millennial, and others. He lives with his family in Haddon Township.
Laskey most recently wrote on this topic in the Sept. 29, 2016 edition of the Catholic Star Herald in his article “A good Catholic meddles in politics.”
The Catholic Business Network Breakfast will be held at Woodcrest Country Club, 300 East Evesham Road, Cherry Hill, from 7:30-9 a.m. To register, go to https://goo.gl/9FWd3h or contact Sheila McGirl at Sheila.McGirl@camdendiocese.org or 856-583-6195.
