Charles S. McDaniel Jr. dies, worked for diocese

Charles S. McDaniel Jr., formerly of Pennsauken, and former director of Buildings for the Diocese of Camden, died April 19 at age 86.

A World War II veteran, Mr. McDaniel was a former PYAA coach, and active member, reader, lector and Scout Leader at St. Stephen Parish in Pennsauken.

He was the husband of the late Doris, and father of Christopher, Carl (Margie), Charles III (Lynne), John (Gina), and James (Judy) McDaniel. He was the brother of Edward, Emma Mae and the late Jack, and the grandfather of 11, and great-grandfather of nine.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 24 at St. Stephen Church. Entombment was at Calvary Mausoleum. Donations are requested to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden, Office of Development, 1845 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ 08103.
