Bishop Dennis Sullivan, assisted by seminarian Matthew Corbett, consecrates the chrism, the oil to be used throughout the entire Diocese of Camden during the year, at the annual chrism Mass, celebrated April 15 at St. Agnes Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish in Blackwood. Standing at right is Bishop Emeritus Joseph A. Galante. In addition to the chrism, Bishop Sullivan also blessed the oil of the sick, used to strengthen the infirm, and the oil of catechumens, used to prepare and strengthen those preparing for baptism. The chrism is used during the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and holy orders. Above, priests of the diocese concelebrate the Mass with the bishop and renew their commitment to priestly service.
