Deacon Santos to minister to Latino community

deaconsantos-webBishop Dennis Sullivan appointed Deacon Arnaldo A. Santos to All Saints Parish in Millville and St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora.
In addition to this diaconal assignment, Bishop Sullivan has appointed Deacon Santos to serve as pastoral associate for Hispanic Ministry to serve the needs of the parishes of All Saints and St. Maximilian Kolbe. In this capacity, he will be involved in all aspects of ministry to the local Latino community, including faith formation, spirituality, sacramental preparation and evangelization.
Andres Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry and Director of Evangelization for the Diocese of Camden, says that “Deacon Arnaldo will be very helpful providing leadership and administration of specific areas of Hispanic ministry in these two parishes. This is a very creative ministry to serve the needs of our Latino population. At the same time, both communities will have visiting priests to celebrate the Sunday Masses in Spanish.”
The appointment becomes effective July 14.
Formerly assigned to the Parish of the Holy Cross in Bridgeton, Deacon Santos is fluent in both English and Spanish.
A retired New Jersey Police Detective of 25 years, he is a recognized expert witness in the field of East Coast Mexican Street Gangs by the United States Justice Federal District Court of Newark, N.J. He has previously been assigned to the Cumberland County Narcotics Taskforce (Bridgeton, New Jersey Office), FBI Gang Task Force (Northfield, New Jersey Office) and New Jersey Attorney General’s Gang Land Task Force.
