Diaconate Center
Father Robert Hughes, Vicar General for the Diocese of Camden, blesses the new Diaconate Center in Vineland on Sept. 12, its first day of formation sessions for men studying for the permanent diaconate. The dedication followed an open house of the new facility, the site of the former Sacred Heart High School. It includes classrooms, a library and a chapel. The Parish of Christ, the Good Shepherd, collaborated with the diocese on opening the new center. Next to Father Hughes is Msgr. John Burton, pastor of Christ, the Good Shepherd. Standing at left is Deacon Leo McBlain, director of personnel for the permanent diaconate. Not pictured is Deacon Michael J. Carter, director of formation for the permanent diaconate.
