NuStar’s trash became treasure for students at Guardian Angels Regional School when the company donated refurbished lockers for 6th grade students at the school’s grades 4-8 campus in Paulsboro.
The NuStar Paulsboro Terminal removed the lockers to make way for a new conference room.
Judy MacKenzie, librarian at Guardian Angels, contacted Terminal Manager Rusty Wright to ask if NuStar would consider donating the lockers to the school. Wright not only agreed to donate them — he headed up a volunteer NuStar crew to clean, paint and deliver the lockers.
“We were glad we could help Guardian Angels,” said Wright. “We were trying to figure out how to dispose of the lockers, and we’re happy that they’re being put to good use. The kids sent us a giant thank you card that they all signed, with notes about how much they appreciate having the lockers. It feels good to know that something we didn’t need any more is helping local students.”
