Elizabeth J. Lorge dies, papal honor recipient

Elizabeth J. Lorge, a papal honor recipient, died Jan. 19 at the age of 79.
Formerly of Turnersville, Mrs. Lorge was active for many years at St. Jude Parish, Blackwood, and Holy Family, Sewell, and was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross, an honor conferred directly by the pope.
She was the wife of the late LCDR Eugene Phillip Lorge, U.S.N.; mother of Frank Lorge (Joyce) of Egg Harbor, RADM Patrick Lorge, U.S.N. (Donna) of San Diego, Calif., Suzanne Lorge of N.Y., Thomas Lorge (Christine) of Mt. Laurel, the late William Dominick Lorge, Christine (Rob) Pignatello of Wayne, N.J., and Timothy Lorge (Stephanie) of N.Y. She had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 24 at the Church of the Holy Family. Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
