Bishop Dennis Sullivan appointed Father Charles J. Colozzi pastor of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Carneys Point, for a six year term, effective April 1.
Father Colozzi, 39, is currently chaplain, Gloucester Catholic High School, and part-time parochial vicar and in-residence at St. Mary, Gloucester.
Born in Cherry Hill, Father Colozzi was educated at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa., and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood, Pa. He was ordained by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Glassboro, on May 25, 2002.
Father Colozzi has been chaplain at Gloucester Catholic since 2006, and he also has served as chaplain at Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill.
He has served as parochial vicar at Holy Family Parish, Sewell; St. Joseph, Somers Point; Sacred Heart, Mount Ephraim; St. Francis de Sales, Barrington; and Mary, Queen of All Saints, Pennsauken. He has been at St. Mary Parish, Gloucester City, since 2011.
Father Colozzi is a member of the Marian Commission.
