Father Joseph Victor Jurkowski, a priest of 52 years who has served as parochial vicar at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish, Atlantic City, for the past decade, retired May 1, his 77th birthday.
Father Jurkowski attended the Catholic University of Lublin in Poland and was ordained there on July 1, 1958.
He came to the Diocese of Camden in 1992. He was in-residence at Our Lady of the Angels, Cape May Court House, and served as chaplain at Burdette Tomlin Hospital, Cape May Court House, until 1993.
He served briefly as parochial vicar at Holy Saviour Parish, Westmont, and then at St. Michael, Gibbstown, 1993-2000.
He has been at St. Nicholas of Tolentine since June 2000.
