Father Robert J. Kantz to retire July 1


Father Robert J. Kantz, parochial vicar at Holy Angels, Woodbury, will retire July 1. He will continue In Residence at Holy Angels, Woodbury.

Father Kantz, 71, served for 20 years as an officer in the United States Army Reserve and was employed in the Life Sciences Laboratory Business before he was ordained a priest by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio on June 2, 2001. He completed his seminary formation at Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J.

He was administrator of Saint James Parish, Penns Grove, 2003-05, and administrator and pastor of Most Holy Redeemer, Westville Grove, 2008-10. He was parochial vicar of Saint John of God, North Cape May, 2005-08. He also served as a chaplain at Cooper University Medical Center, Camden, and worked in the Tribunal, having earned a licentiate in canon law from The Catholic University of America in Washington.
