High School Sports

Holy Spirit High School, Absecon, announces Bob Soifer is its new head baseball coach. Coach Soifer has been coaching baseball at all levels for 38 years, starting as an assistant Little League coach when he was 15 years old. Soifer coached all through the Ventnor Youth Leagues, was an assistant coach at Atlantic City High School for six years, Stockton State College, and spent the last three years as hitting coach at Holy Spirit. Coach Soifer is in his 25th year of service at the Atlantic City Fire Department, seven of those years as Fire Captain.

Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, Pennsauken, has announced who will be inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame:

Dr. Charles D. Hearey, 1961 (baseball, basketball)

Thomas J. Melchionni, 1971 (basketball)

John T. Fallon, 1989 (baseball, ice hockey, football)

Nancy L. (Yago) Adams, 1989 (field hockey, basketball, softball, track)

Blaine Neal, 1996 (baseball)
