On Saturday, June 12, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Lindenwold hosted some 250 people from Hispanic Catholic charismatic groups all over the Diocese of Camden, for the Diocesan Revival-Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Participants were from several Latin-American countries, including Peru and the Dominican Republic.
The theme of the event was “Todos Quedaron Llenos Del Espiritu Santo” (“They Were All Filled With The Holy Spirit”), from Acts 2:4.
The event was held so Hispanic charismatic Catholics could “experience the love of Jesus within us and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit,” said Andres Arango, director of Young Adult and Campus Ministry, and Evangelization for the diocese.
The day included the rosary; a talk on the Holy Spirit by Silvia Mariella, a singer and speaker from Paraguay; Eucharistic adoration; a talk on evangelization by Arango; and Mass celebrated by Father Joseph Capella, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Father Rene Canales from Corpus Christ Parish in Carneys Point.
Mariella also sang for participants.
“This the first encounter in a diocesan level for the Hispanic Charismatic Renewal,” mentioned Kathia Gomez, coordinator of the Diocesan Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
“We were very happy to see the attendance of the community and to see the unity of the several prayer groups around the diocese, working together in this process of evangelization,” she said.
