Joanna M. Vecchio, 73, who spent her life in service to others, died suddenly July 13.
At age 47, Mrs. Vecchio obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and at age 60 obtained a master’s in pastoral counseling from LaSalle University. She worked as a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction and troubled youth and was a lector and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Williamstown.
Born and raised in Haddon Heights, Mrs. Vecchio married Anthony S. Vecchio in 1959. She survived by her two sisters, Dorothy and Eileen; nine children, Anthony, Frank, Daniel, Carole (McHale), Vincent, Mark, Joanna (Grasso), Eileen, and Mary; and 25 grandchildren.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Williamstown. Interment at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Williamstown.
