The 26th annual memorial Mass, honoring public safety personnel in Cape May and Atlantic counties who have died in the line of duty, was celebrated Sunday, April 10 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in Atlantic City.
The 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May counties sponsors the annual event, including a brunch that followed at the Borgata.
Msgr. William Hodge, pastor of St. Nicholas of Tolentine, was the celebrant of the Mass.
Some 600 local police, fire, and emergency service personnel remembered their co-workers who died in the line of duty.
Participating in the Mass were members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Explorers Post 94, and members of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department Police Explorers Post 29, who served as altar servers and ushers; and public safety personnel, and their loved ones.
The New Jersey State Police/Atlantic City Police Combined Honor Guard, accompanied by the Cape-Atlantic Police and Fire Irish Pipe Brigade and the A.C.F.D. Sand Pipers Pipes and Drums, performed the presentation of colors.
