On the weekend of Jan. 15-16 Deacon Bill Johnson, former director of the Office of the Black Catholic Ministry for the Diocese of Camden, gave the homily at all Masses at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Sicklerville. This is the third consecutive year that Deacon Johnson has commemorated Martin Luther King’s birthday at St. Charles. At the Saturday service he was joined by the Diocesan Gospel Choir (bottom right). Deacon Johnson is a product of 12 years of education by the Oblate Sisters of Providence in Charleston, S.C.
