Family members bless one another on Saturday, Dec. 3, during a multi-generational Christmas carol festival, hosted by St. Clare of Assisi Parish at its Swedesboro campus. Sister Marty Gentilini, pastoral associate, welcomed more than 150 people to the event. Each family was invited to bring the Holy Family figures from their Nativity scene to be blessed, and the story was told of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. Dessert was served by seventh and eighth level students who, directed by Roberta Omiatek, music liturgy coordinator, led everyone in song. St. Clare pastor, Father Dave Grover, proclaimed the Gospel and families exchanged stories of their own Christmas traditions. The day closed with a presentation about Our Lady of Gaudalupe, delivered by Father Rene Canales, and a hearty rendition of “Joy to the World!”
