On March 1 at St. Nicholas Church in Egg Harbor City (Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Galloway) 10 new altar servers were installed at the church’s 10 a.m. Hispanic liturgy.
The newly-installed, from 7-12 years old, participated in a ceremony that marked the culmination of their training, which began last September.
At the beginning of the Mass, the 10 processed into church carrying their vestments. After Father Armando Rodriguez Montoya blessed the vestments, the children’s parents helped the new servers don their new clothes.
Next, Father Montoya blessed a basket of crosses, and he placed a cross around the neck of each child.
The 10 new altar servers are Sonia Alojas; Bryan de los Santos; Gabriel de los Santos; Brenda Delgado; Luis Denecio; Joselyn Estrada; Victoria Llanos-Garcia; Daniel Mendez; Mia Mendez; and Jonathan Ruiz-Polina.
