News from Holy Spirit High School, Absecon


Battelle Memorial Institute has announced the renewal of the Battelle Memorial Institute STEM Scholarship Program for students attending Holy Spirit High School, Absecon. Battelle will award a $2,500 scholarship to one student at each grade level, including an incoming freshman, for the 2015-16 school year for a total of four scholarships totaling $10,000. To be considered for this scholarship, students must return a completed application no later than 3 p.m. on May 18. Applications are available in the Guidance Office or on the Holy Spirit website.

Ryan Maslowas, a Holy Spirit sophomore, has been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston June 28-30. The congress is an honors-only program for high school students who are passionate about science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). It will feature Nobel Laureates, National Medal of Science winners and deans of the world’s top tech universities. Ryan was nominated by astronaut Buzz Aldrin, science director of the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists to represent New Jersey.
