The Pastoral and Matrimonial Renewal Center (PMRC) will sponsor a special one-day training for married couples who have experienced the Living in Love marriage enrichment weekend and would like to become mentor couples for the engaged.
It is especially for couples who have not been able to attend the weekly discussion sessions Living in Love Every Day that are the preparation for mentoring the engaged.
“We have been aware that the normal mentor training has not always accommodated people’s schedules, and we are aware that there is a growing need for mentor couples in the parishes of the diocese. So we are willing to offer this one-day event to try to reach as many couples who would like to mentor as we can,” said Ron Feher of the PMRC.
Ron and Kathy Feher will conduct the full-day training at St. Charles Borromeo Parish Center in Sicklerville on Saturday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. They are offering this condensed training in the Diocese of Camden to facilitate the transition to the mentor-couple model of marriage preparation. Twenty couples in the six-county diocese have completed the training through PMRC and are mentoring engaged couples for their parishes as well as for other parishes in their area.
The one-day training is open to any couple who has experienced the Living in Love retreat workshop and will cover all the topics included in the Living in Love Every Day follow-up skills course.
Those who participate will be qualified to facilitate Preparing to Live in Love for the engaged, but committing to mentoring is not required to participate.
The cost for the day’s meals will be $30. For more information and to register, call 610-640-4105 or email PMRCUSA@msn.com.
