Parish events remember John Paul II

St Joseph’s (Polish) Church, Camden, will mark the beatification of Pope John Paul II and Divine Mercy Sunday on May 1 with a day-long series of special events.

The first and second-place winners of the Pope John Paul II essay contest, open to all eighth grade school students in the Camden Diocese, will be invited to read their winning essays at the 10:30 a.m. Mass, followed by a traditional Polish Easter Swiaconka luncheon at 12 p.m. in the parish hall.

Reconciliation will be available in the church from 2-3 p.m., followed by the recitation of the Divine Mercy chaplet at 3 p.m., and a 3:30 p.m. mass.
