On June 5, at Overbrook, Gloucester Catholic High School defeated St. Augustine Prep (Richland) in the Non-Public South A baseball finals, by a score of 7-0 to give the Rams their fourth straight sectional title. Sophomore starting pitcher John Murray threw a complete game four-hit shutout, and the Rams’ offense scored six runs in the first three innings. Five days later, Gloucester Catholic capped a memorable season with a 2-0 victory over Seton Hall Prep (West Orange) to capture their fourth straight state championship.
