Bobby Fingers, Bob Campanell and Howard Isaacson play at a “Rock and Roll Knight” sponsored by the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph’s School, Somers Point.
The Knights of Columbus recently brought back “the music that made Somers Point famous” with a benefit held at St. Joseph School.
For one evening, the auditorium of the school became the nightclub Tony Mart’s, which featured live music — The Band played there — during the summer from the 1960s until it closed in the 1980s. The 1983 film “Eddie and the Cruisers” is about a fictional band that becomes famous playing at Tony Mart’s, and scenes were filmed in the club.
Music for the evening was provided by local musicians Dr. Bobby Fingers, Bob Campanell and Howard Isaacson.
