The fifth Annual Richard’s River Run 5K Run/Walk, which benefits children diagnosed with cancer and pediatric cancer research, will take place on Sunday, May 1 at 9 a.m., at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken.
The run/walk is organized by the Go4theGoal Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to finding a cure for Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, as well as other pediatric cancers, and is named after Richard Stefanacci, a student at St. Peter School in Merchantville and Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill. He died from Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2007 at the age of 14.
Since its inception in 2006, the Go4theGoal Foundation has funded over $500,000 in research grants, and has provided financial assistance to pediatric cancer patients and their families.
There is a $20 fee for pre-registrants and a $25 fee for those registering on the day of the race. Tthere will be awards for all age categories. T-shirts for all pre-registrants on race day, while supplies last. To register, go to www.go4thegoal.org,visit www.active.com, or call 609-313-0912. .
