The Holy Spirit High School Interact Club (above, soon to be officially sponsored by the Absecon-Galloway Rotary Club) spent the past few weeks making blankets for Project Linus, a nationwide effort that collects handmade blankets and distributes them to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere a child might be in need of a big hug. The Mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteers.
The third grade at St. Mary School, Vineland, created a quilt with each student responsible for a square that depicts his or her life at St. Mary School. During Catholic Schools Week, the quilt was raffled off to parents, and the third grade class earned $225 for St. Jude Hospital.

They were Michael Baum, Erin Burke, Michael Gambino, Emily Schroeder, Tiffany Tran, and Antonio Vizzini-Williams. Michael Baum and Erin Burke both made it to the Top 10 and the Team Round effort took a fifth place overall finish trophy.
