The 2015-16 Holy Spirit High School Mock Trial Team and volunteer attorney coaches were chosen to present at the Annual Training Workshop for Teachers and Attorney Coaches sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation on Oct. 21 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

Some 200 teachers and volunteer attorney coaches from across the state were in attendance and received professional development hours for the workshop. Holy Spirit’s Defense Team went against the Prosecution Team from Kingsway Regional using this year’s case before Mark A. Baber, Superior Court Judge of Hudson County.

For the first time, courtroom artists were available during the trial, and Holy Spirit student artist Kara O’Brien, had the opportunity to work directly with the professional artists.

In addition, Holy Spirit faculty advisor David Pfeifer and Holy Spirit volunteer attorney coach Mary Beth Clark led the professional development seminar, “Rules of Evidence Summary.”
