The St. Peter, Merchantville, Senior Ministry held its first anniversary gala on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Collins House in Merchantville.

In response to the identification of “Compassionate Outreach” as a pastoral priority for the Diocese of Camden, the St. Peter Senior Ministry first opened its doors in January 2011, serving 20 seniors on the first day.

Throughout the first year, activities included a Hawaiian Luau; a weekly exercise program; a musical fashion show; and cooking lessons with parish pastor, Father Anthony Manuppella. Open Monday through Friday, the center attracted over 300 seniors last year.

Eighty people attended the gala, including Father Manuppella; St. Peter’s parochial vicar Father David Rivera; Bobbie Bradley, director of the Senior Ministry; and team members of Senior Ministry.
