Sister Margaret Jennings

Sister Margaret Jennings, who was a Sister of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ) for 57 years, died of heart failure at Holy Child Center in Rosemont, Pa. on Dec. 21. She was 82.

She taught at Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Cape May from 1991 to 2006, before retiring to Holy Child Center in Rosemont, Pa.

Born in New York, N.Y., Sister Peggy entered the Society of the Holy Child Jesus in 1953, professing her first vows in 1955 and her final vows in 1960. She was well-known to many by her former religious name of Mother Josephine Mary.

Sister Peggy began her ministry in the New York area and also served in Illinois, Convent Station, N.J., and Sharon Hill, Pa.

Sister Peggy is survived by one brother, Joseph, and her religious community.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 27, 2012 in the New Sharon Chapel, Rosemont, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the SHCJ Retirement Fund, 1341 Montgomery Avenue, Rosemont, PA 19010.
