Seventh grade Holy Trinity Regional School student Andrew Zappley advanced to the final eight on MasterChef Junior, which aired on the Fox network earlier this week.
With judges Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliott and Joe Bastianich, the reality show pits the best young chefs in the country against each other for $100,000 and the MasterChef Junior Trophy.
In a pairs competition that had Andrew team up with fellow contestant Riley, the judges tasked the young cooks with making a sushi boat comprising a California roll, tuna and salmon sushi, and shrimp tempura.
The team of Andrew and Riley impressed the judges with their teamwork, presentation, and taste of their dish, while the pair of Cory and Jack were sent home.
Watch Andrew compete for the MasterChef Junior crown, this Tuesday, 8 p.m., on the Fox Network.
