The 24th annual Camden Diocesan Charismatic Conference will take place at the Wildwood Convention Center from Friday, Oct. 5-Sunday, Oct. 7.
Themed “Jesus, Remember Me When You Come Into Your Kingdom” (Lk 23:42), the weekend will feature guest speakers, and workshops geared toward adults, senior high school youth, and junior high school youth.
The master of ceremonies for the weekend will be Father John Gordon, a priest from the Archdiocese of Newark, who has been active in Charismatic Renewal since 1975, has served on the National Service Committee, and travels all over the country speaking at charismatic conferences.
Guest speakers include Father Ariel Hernandez, Richard L. Lane and Donna Lane.
Father Hernandez, pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Bridgeton, was born and raised in Argentina. In 2003, he was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Camden and currently serves as associate vicar of the Spanish Apostolate in the diocese. Every first Saturday of the month at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Camden, he celebrates a healing Mass.
Richard Lane, an NFL Hall of Fame cornerback, speaks at Catholic churches, and also Baptist, Methodist and inter/non-denominational churches across the country. He has been featured on Ave Maria Radio, Our Sunday Visitor, and EWTN’s “Journey Home” with Marcus Grodi.
Donna Lane, known for her inspirational workshops and catechetical formation and training, has presented numerous workshops on sacramental preparation and travels the country doing presentations and workshops.
The senior high youth track will include the worship band CatholicFX. A ministry of young adults, the band blends of upbeat, high-energy rock music with quiet, contemplative songs. Over the years, CatholicFX has led retreats, youth rallies, school events, and worship nights.
Working with the junior high youth will be the band Paging Samuel, based in Southeastern Pennsylvania, but with strong ties to South Jersey. Facilitated by Sandy Scheiner of the Family of God prayer community, the Junior High track will include music, skits and activities that will help youth live their faith in new, exciting, and meaningful ways.
The Junior High youth will combine with the Senior High youth, for the youth track procession, and Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction of Saturday night.
