The Diocese of Camden’s first-ever Soccer Cup will take place on Saturday, June 15, at Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, sponsored by the diocesan offices of Hispanic Ministry, and Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministries.
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 39 is invited to lace up their cleats and get on the field, and will be divided into all-boys and all-girls squads.
The event is a direct response to the recent National V Encuentro, which brought together Hispanic Catholics from throughout the country last fall to discuss ways to renew their faith, and learn how to share it with others.
“Young adults was the number one priority in the diocesan process of the V Encuentro,” explained Andres Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry in the diocese.
“This event is a great opportunity to evangelize and form community with the new generations of Latinos in South Jersey,” he said.
The event is free, and is from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact Jose Rodriguez at jose.rodriguez@camdendiocese.org, or 856-583-6172.
