Romero Center Ministries in Camden is hosting a Young Adult Ministry Conference, “Integrating Faith, Service, and Justice With Young Adults,” from Thursday, May 17- Sunday, May 20.
Sponsored by the National Young Adult Ministry Association, the conference is aimed at those in ministry to young adults at diocesan levels; in parishes; in college campus ministry; through faith-based volunteer service; and in other non-profit settings.
During the four days, conference attendees will network and share resources with others in young adult ministry; explore how to invite young adults to respond to the call, to work for justice; how to bring Catholic social teaching to life; and share promising practices for guiding theological reflection with young adults.
The conference will include workshop presentations, symposium discussions, service experience and group theological reflection, and opportunities for liturgical worship.
Presenters during the four days include Marie Dennis, from Pax Christi International; Father Mike McCue, OSFS, director of DeSales Service Works; Gregory Coogan, director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Diocese of Camden; Melissa Cidade, director of Pastoral Assistance, Surveys and Services, Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate; Widian Nicola, Center for Faith Justice; and Mike Laskey, Center for Faith Justice.
Young adult panelists include Lauren Puzen, Old St. Joseph’s Young Adult Community; and Charles Gardner, Community of Sant’Egidio.
Taking place from Thursday, May 17, 5 p.m.- Sunday, May 20, 10 a.m., the conference will cost $235, which covers accommodations (dormitory-style rooms), all meals, all programming, printed and online copies of resources, and access to internet discussion group for attendees.
