Forty-eight middle school and high school students participated in a daylong retreat Dec. 2 at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Williamstown. The participants came from three churchs: Our Lady of Peace; Our Lady of Hope, Blackwood; and Incarnation, Mantua.
The day was directed by 13 members of NET (National Evangelization Team), a Minnesota-based youth organization that travels throughout the United States speaking to youth at schools and parishes.
This particular NET group, Team 5, through skits and small group sessions, challenged the youth to love Christ, and embrace the life of the church.
NET team members are 18-28 years old. Divided into 11 teams, they travel thoughout the country for nine months every year.
NET began in 1981 as an outreach of the retreat program of the St. Paul Catholic Youth Center (CYC). Since 1981, NET teams have led over 25,000 retreats and ministered to more than 1.6 million young Catholics.
