CHERRY HILL — On Sunday, Nov. 14, the Knights of Columbus promoted 344 men, from its Second District representing the Camden, Metuchen and Trenton dioceses from 90 councils, to the rank of Fourth degree, also known as the Patriotic Degree.

Among the men were a father and his two sons. Bill Ezekiel, Sr., from Audubon; his son, Bill, Jr., of Haddon Heights; and son George, of Bellmawr; all were Third Degree members who qualified for advancement to the Fourth Degree.

The ceremony and dinner were at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill.

“Our father is an icon of charity,” Bill, Jr. “Will,” said when asked why he and his brother George followed in their father’s footsteps. (Another brother, Jerry, is a Third Degree Knight at Santa Maria Council).

“George and I wanted to follow suit.”

All of the men are from the Santa Maria Council 1443, out of Haddon Township. Bill Sr., a real estate broker for Prudential Fox and Roach, and parishioner of St. Rose of Lima, Haddon Heights, has been a Knight since 1955; Bill Jr., underwriting manager for First Sealord Surety, Inc. and St. Rose of Lima parishioner; and George, PGK (1998-2000) and CFO of the Garr Group, Inc. and St. Rita, Bellmawr parishioner, since 1996.
