Father Donald Calloway, MIC, aka “the Surfing Priest,” so named for his favorite pastime, will bring his story of conversion to two local parishes next month: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Galloway on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m., and St. Thomas, Brigantine, on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m..
A high school dropout, drug user and petty thief, Father Galloway found the Christian faith through the Blessed Virgin Mary. Now, he spreads his story of conversion as a priest of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.
Father Calloway is the author of “Marian Gems: Daily Wisdom of Our Lady” (2014), and “Under the Mantle: Marian Thoughts from a 21st Century Priest” (2013). He is also the editor of two books: “The Immaculate Conception in the Life of the Church” (2004), and “The Virgin Mary and Theology of the Body” (2005).
There is no admission fee to Father Calloway’s presentations.
