David Bowers, 6, with his mother, Michelle; family members; and Father Tim Byerley, thank the faithful at Saint Peter Church for their prayers during the Merchantville parish’s annual 40 Hours devotion, which took place from Sunday, Oct. 9 to Tuesday, Oct. 11. The three days focused on Servant of God Maria Esperanza, chief visionary of the Marian apparitions in Betania, Venezuela, when Our Lady identified herself as Mary, Virgin and Mother, Reconciler of All Peoples and Nations. On Oct. 9, Michelle Bowers spoke of how her son David was healed through the intercession of Maria Esperanza. Father Byerley, pastor at Saint Peter’s, is the vice-postulator for the canonization cause of the Servant of God. Photo by Alan M. Dumoff
