Next week, classes will once again start up for IMEC (Instituto de Ministerio Eclesial de Camden), the lay ministry formation program for Spanish-speaking adults looking to learn more about the Catholic faith and better serve their communities.
The five six-week courses, focusing on academic, pastoral, spiritual and communal formation, will be held at six locations for classes at Level 1, 2 or 3:
Saint Damien, Ocean City;
Saint Joseph Pro-Cathedral, Camden;
Our Lady of Hope, Blackwood;
Divine Mercy, Vineland;
Saint Clare, Swedesboro; and
Holy Cross, Bridgeton.
Upon completing each level of the program, participants receive certificates that fulfill diocesan religious education teaching requirements, says Andres Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry.
As well, the “program is important for Latino leaders, in helping them learn about the faith, how to be more effective in church ministry, and strengthening their personal relationship with Jesus Christ,” he added.
