Bishop Sullivan recently announced the appointment of new directors in diocesan ministries.

Mariann Gilbride has been named the new director of Development for the Diocese of Camden, and Matthew Davis has been named the new director of the Office of Life & Justice for the Diocese of Camden and vice-chancellor for the City of Camden.
Gilbride, who began on Jan. 30, replaces James Lanahan, who retired on Feb. 16. She has previous experience in the Diocese of Camden’s Office of Development, and for the last number of years has served as the associate director of Development in the Diocese of Trenton.
“Mariann’s familiarity with the House of Charity – Bishop’s Annual Appeal and her work with our capital campaign company, Changing Our World, will serve well in this time of transition,” noted Father Robert Hughes, Vicar General for the Diocese of Camden, in a statement announcing Gilbride’s hiring.
Matthew Davis, who began work on Feb. 4, replaces Michael Jordan Laskey, who left the office to take a position with the Jesuit Community in Washington, D.C.

Davis, who was raised in Millville and now lives in South Jersey with his wife, previously worked for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where he served as the director of the Office of Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees.
He has taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Saint Louis, Boston and in the Dominican Republic. For six years, he helped refugees in Boston secure employment and job training. Before taking a position with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, he spent two years learning Spanish, teaching and engaging in ministry with the Jesuits in the Dominican Republic.
