St. Joseph Regional School, Somers Point students felt the earth move under their feet last Monday, as Tom Barry, of Mobile Education Productions, brought an inflatable earth dome to the school, to teach eighth grade students about the planet. Learning outside as well as inside the dome, which was 10.5 feet tall and 12 feet in diameter, students were treated to information on continents, time zones, longitude, latitude and other earth-related facts. The presentation was part of the school’s earth-friendly week, which included a daily Earth prayer and earth-friendly tip, and other presentations which had students engaging in a book swap, or the school using no electricity from 1:30-2:30 p.m., “one hour for the earth.”
