Sister Katharine McCormack, 74, formerly Sister Regina Angele, former principal at Assumption School in Atco, died at Camilla Hall on Monday, Sept. 27.
Born in Philadelphia, Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1953 from St. Margaret Parish, Narberth, and professed first vows in 1956. During the 55 years of her active ministry, she served as an elementary school teacher and principal in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the dioceses of Allentown and Camden.
In the Diocese of Camden, she was principal at Assumption School from 1970-76, and taught at Queen of Heaven School Cherry Hill and St. Teresa, Runnemede.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 30 at Camilla Hall, Immaculata, Pa.
In addition to the members of her religious community, her brother John (June) McCormack, a sister, Mary Anne (George) Barnes, many nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces survive Sister. Her parents John and Katharine Lillian Kelly McCormack predeceased her.
