Sister Agnes Albert (Ellen Scheckenbach), who taught in the Diocese of Camden, died Dec. 24, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Villa in Flourtown, Pa., at the age of 91.

After graduating from Bridgeton High School with the Class of 1938, Sister Agnes Albert immediately entered the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph, where she enjoyed a long teaching career of over 40 years throughout the Philadelphia Archdiocese and Camden Diocese. Recently, she celebrated over 70 years as a Sister of St. Joseph.

Sister Agnes Albert enjoyed her many visits with her family, whom affectionately knew her as “Auntie Ellen.” She also enjoyed music and painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Agnes Scheckenbach; and her brother and his wife, Albert Jr. and Betty.

She is survived by two sisters, Winnie Shannon and her husband, Paul, and Marie Taylor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Villa in Flourtown on Dec. 30, 2010. Contributions in Sister Agnes Albert’s memory can be made to St. Joseph’s Villa, 110 Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
