The 2021 Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden’s Justice For All Dinner in Atlantic City has been canceled.
“We very much were hoping to gather this year to celebrate the work of Catholic Charities, our honoree the Knights of Columbus, and our beloved Disciples of Mercy awardees. With the persistence and uncertainty of COVID-19, we knew that holding a safe, indoor, well-attended event in October would be a challenge, especially while maintaining the typical upbeat, interactive and celebratory atmosphere of our JFA gatherings,” executive director Kevin Hickey said. “However, despite our best efforts through the eleventh hour, we realized that optimizing the safety, turnout, inspiration and fun so important to a successful and memorable evening was a bridge too far.“
He noted that in conversations with stakeholders and constituents, despite the event cancellation, they remain committed to supporting the ever-growing work of Catholic Charities in serving those in need with food, utility and rental assistance, counseling and more. Ticket holders and sponsors have been offered full refunds, but in their generosity, many have asked Catholic Charities to retain the monies as a donation.
This year’s JFA honorees will be recognized at a future event.
