High-schoolers gathered around a bonfire for faith-sharing, s’mores, pumpkin carving and spooky fun, as the youth ministry of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Absecon, held a Halloween party the evening of Oct. 24. Part of the festivities included watching a recent Keepin’ It Catholic episode on YouTube in which hosts Star Martinez and José Rodriguez, director of the Diocese’s Office of Family and Youth Ministries, discussed the origins of Halloween and saints of the Church. Father Joshua Nevitt, the parish’s parochial vicar, was also on hand to talk about All Hallows’ Eve. Before the older teens met, the junior high youth ministry, which consists of grades five through eight, had their own Halloween fun with relay races and pumpkin painting.
